With a low-profile design and a weight of just 725 grams, the Ortles Couloir is the lightest boot of its kind in its category. Our footwear designers have utilized moulded carbon fibre reinforced polymer composites with unidirectional fibres to reduce thickness while maintaining maximum torsional and longitudinal rigidity, strength, and stiffness.
The boot features a double construction with a waterproof, breathable membrane, an elastic, protective, comfortable external nylon gaiter, and a heat-welded, water-resistant YKK zip. The abrasion-resistant PU rand adds durability to the design.
The Vibram Litebase technology outsole offers surefootedness while weighing 30% less than a conventional sole. This weight reduction provides energy-saving benefits while maintaining optimal grip, traction, and durability.
The lightweight carbon fibre shank plate provides stability, load transfer, and precision for activities such as front pointing. Developed with dedicated thickness areas, the shank plate ensures the right balance of flexibility and stability.
